OneRepublic is an American Rock band formed in Colorado. After a few years of moderate success, they have since drawn mainstream attention with the release of their single “Apologize,” which has sold in excess of 7 million singles worldwide. The song, according to SoundScan Data, is one of only two songs that have reached 3 million legal downloads in history. A remix of “Apologize” was featured on Timbaland’s Shock Value and the band’s debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, produced by Greg Wells. Their debut album was released in the United States on November 20, 2007, with international release dates staggered throughout early 2008.

Cosmic Egg is the second studio album by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother, released on 23 October 2009. It is the first album by the second lineup of the band, featuring Ian Peres (bass, keyboards), Aidan Nemeth (guitar) and Dave Atkins (drums), formed in 2009 after original members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett left in August 2008. Upon its release, Cosmic Egg charted at number three on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, the same position as the band’s first album.

The album was recorded between April and May 2009 at Sound City Studios and Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles, California. The title of the album comes from a position in yoga described by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale as “like the fetal pose.” The album’s release is being promoted by a series of tours beginning in September. The first song released from the album was the promotional digital download single “Back Round” on 2 June 2009; “New Moon Rising” was the first full single release from Cosmic Egg, on 25 August 2009.

The Blueprint 3 is the eleventh studio album by American rapper Jay-Z, released September 8, 2009 on Roc Nation in the United States. The album was released digitally on September 11, 2009, and its United Kingdom and international release followed on September 14 that same year. It is the final installment in The Blueprint trilogy, preceded by the critically acclaimed The Blueprint (2001) and its follow-up The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse (2002).

The entire album was leaked on August 31, 2009. When asked about the leak, Jay-Z stated: “It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it”. Upon its release, The Blueprint 3 received generally positive reviews from music critics, based on an aggregate score of 65/100 from Metacritic. The album sold an estimated 476,000 copies in its first week and it became his 11th US number one album, breaking the record he had previously shared with Elvis Presley.
